MLB Hall of Fame changes
A significant change was made to the Era Committee system, which evaluates Hall of Fame candidates who have been retired for over 15 years. From now on, candidates who receive fewer than five of 16 votes on a given ballot will be ineligible for the next three-year cycle. If candidates fails to reach this threshold multiple times, they will no longer be considered for future ballots. These updates reflect the Hall of Fame’s ongoing efforts to modernize its operations while ensuring fair and structured eligibility processes for future inductees.
