Final Score: Marlins 4, Mets 1
Marlins’ Key Performances:
- Max Acosta: Continues to have a solid spring training, going 2-for-2 with a solo home run.
- Mark Coley II: Hit a two-run home run for the Marlins in bottom of the 7th.
- Max Meyer: Had a solid start, and the bullpen effectively shut down the Mets’ offense.
- Bullpen: The Marlins used seven relievers combined to limit the Mets to just five hits.
Mets’ Key Performances:
- Pete Alonso: He continues his strong spring with another RBI with a double in the top of the 6th, driving in Chris Williams. He looks to be in mid-season form, and one has to wonder if having the contract in place has settled his nerves.
- Paul Blackburn: A scoreless inning in his first outing this Spring Training with the Mets is a positive sign. He was able to get two ground outs and a strike out. Will be good to see how Blackburn progresses in the coming weeks as the Mets are looking to round out the starting rotation.
