Lindor Lifts Mets to 3-2 Walk-Off Win Over Jays

On April 5, 2025, the New York Mets secured a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays at Citi Field, thanks to late-game heroics. ​

The Blue Jays took the lead with runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette each contributed RBI singles, putting Toronto ahead 2-0.

The Mets responded in the eighth inning when Jesse Winker hit a two-out, two-run triple, tying the game at 2-2. In the ninth inning, Francisco Lindor delivered a walk-off sacrifice fly, driving in Jose Siri for the winning run.

Starting pitcher Griffin Canning allowed one run over four-plus innings. The Mets’ bullpen, including Edwin Díaz who earned the win, held the Blue Jays scoreless in the final innings.
